Free R/C Flight Training
Written by Scott Coyle
Monday, 11 February 2013

Our Flight Training program will commence on Thursday, 5/16/13 and continue every Thursday evening through the summer (weather permitting) at the CCRCC Airfield from about 5:00 pm until dusk.  The last session will be on 9/19/2013.  Pre-registration is not required - just show up at any time and get your name on the list for that evening.  The sessions will be cancelled without notice due to strong rain, strong winds > 15mph, and threatening thunderstorms.

The club provides the models, fuel, and expert instruction - so just bring a positive attitude and enthusiasm (a hat and a pair of good sunglasses certainly wouldn't hurt either).  This is open to the public and no prior experience is necessary.  Come out and join the fun!!

Aviation related job opportunities
Written by Scott Coyle
Sunday, 18 December 2011

My husband and I own Flying S Inc, a small aerospace company just south of Palestine, IL. Our company designs, builds and tests prototype aviation components. We do some work for NASA, but our main project right now is building composite UAV wings. As we grow we want to find local people that might be interested in a neat job building and testing airplane parts. The right candidate would have a keen attention to detail, be honest and hardworking.

PBS just did a feature on us that aired last week.  You can see it online at:
http://www.americasheartland.org/episodes/episode_714/nasa_cattle_farm.htm.

It doesn’t have any footage of our new 16,000 sq. ft. facility that we’re in the process of constructing, maybe next time…

If you know anyone in the local (or not so local) area that might be interested please pass along my details and direct them to our job listing on our website.  www.flying-s.com

Thanks so much!
Regards,
Penny Shaw
