Note: Two dates are Sundays and highlighted in yellow in the attachment.

Attached is information regarding model airplane flying in the Armory for Spring 2018.  There are dates scheduled with each night open to anyone with an AMA membership or affiliated with a Registered Student Organization (RSO). The facility will be closed to other activities so flying can take over the entire facility (Expectations will be clearly defined with the staff). We may still have to contend with track equipment on the floor but at least we will not have to worry about people in the facility.

Please read the attached document that includes all the details. Please pass this on to your flying associates at Horizon, Hobbico, and members of the local RC club.

Rescue project: finish building an airplane that was started but never finished.

I'm just curious what everyone has hanging around in the shop that needs a flash of inspiration to get back on the board again. Anyone's building board.

I've found a few kits in the "started" phase and the projects are sometimes more exciting than had I gotten them .......

Cold weather flying:

If men can go to the poles in furs and snow shoes, I guess we ought to be able to fly our planes in most anything. Well, anyway, there are those of us who are game to fly in less than perfect conditions, generally meaning cold, windy, rainy, or all of the above....

Responsible Drone Flight
As the RC hobby continues to grow with off the shelf ready to fly equipment and the Champaign County R/C Club's effort to safely incorporate new forms of the hobby while educating anyone with an interest in the hobby I felt having some guidelines as I see them on our website.

New QM 40 pylon racer
Here's what I'm working on presently. Can't have enough pylon planes, right!?

This is an Advanced Pylon Products Sweet 1 Q40 (Quarter 40) pylon racer. I'm using a Jett brand QM 40 engine (made by Dub Jett in Texas). Comes with a fiberglass fuselage with some carbon fiber reinforcement, molded hollow wing and horizontal tail surfaces, belly pan, engine cover and modest hardware package. I'll probably paint the fuselage, but just use some vinyl graphics on the wing...

Link to useful LiPo care threads
I was perusing the internet forums on RC Groups recently and came across this thread containing various links to discussions regarding LiPo storage practices, dead LiPo revival, etc. The topics therein are relevant to my recent presentation. I thought some of you may find this information helpful and interesting.
